GETTING STARTED
What is the dream of every football fan? Being the manager of your very own football team!
With a budget of £300 million you and your friends could pick all your favourite players and take on the teams in the English Premier League.
A supreme test of your soccer knowledge, it would give you the chance to pick a winning side and lead them to the league title.
The chance every football fan dreams of can be fulfilled thanks to a fantasy football league and with our help at EPL Fantasy we can help you to create your very own basic version of the popular game.
It puts you in the shoes (or rather boots) of a football manager as you get to choose real players who play in real matches. The performance of the team is ranked alongside the best teams in the country on the English Premier League table.

The first job will be to promote your League. Start on a small scale and put the word around to all your friends - preferably well in advance of the new season in order for you to finalise the managers taking part and their teams.
Once established, ask them to read your Player Roster sheets (obtainable by printing off this website). Remind them:
* LENGTH OF THE SEASON:
A full EPL season is somewhere between 9 and 10 months long which is rather long to expect everyone to keep an interest. So
unless you have really dedicated football fans as friends, we recommend you reduce the season to either 12 or 20 weeks.
* SPENDING FUNDS:
Each manager has only £300 million to spend on players.
Only 3 players from any one EPL team can be purchased.
No player can play for more than one team. If a player is wanted by two or more managers an auction must take place starting
at the player's Market Value (£). The highest bidder succeeds in signing the player.
NB: It's not compulsory to spend all the spending money. The remainder could be useful during the Transfer Window later in
the mid-season.
* TEAM FORMATION:
Must contain 1x Goalkeeper (GK), 4x Defenders (RB, LB, CB), 4x Midfielders (DM, CM, AM, RW, LW) and 2x Forwards (SS, CF).
* TEAM NAME SELECTION:
As soon as their team selection has been made, the manager must give their side a name.
Once all the information has been gathered no more changes can be made until the Transfer Window which takes place during your mid-season.
* THE TRANSFER WINDOW:
Twelve Week Season:
A Transfer Window lasting no longer than three weeks opens at the start of Week 5 and closes at the end of Week 7.
Twenty Week Season:
A Transfer Window lasting no longer than three weeks opens at the start of Week 9 and closes at the end of Week 11.
TIPS FOR BEGINNERS
BALANCE: Try to build a good blend of famous players and rising stars. Three or Four expensive players CANNOT carry a team particularly when forced to play alongside weak, inexperienced ones in order to balance the books!
CHOOSING BETWEEN PLAYERS OF THE SAME VALUE: Choose the player with the strongest club. A team with the best defence and strongest attack will almost certainly get you more points!
CONSIDER INJURY HISTORY: Before buying a player consider their injury history. Players who are regularly forced to sit out games due to lengthy injuries could lose you valuable points!
