TRANSFER WINDOW

Limited time to sell players who are under-performing and buying their replacements

Right.  So we've discussed choosing your team name, selecting and buying your players, created a League and started scoring points.  There's just one more thing left to tell you about - when and how to transfer players in and out of your side.

As the football season gets underway you'll start to find out just how good your team really is - and before long you might want to make changes!  If you are lucky it will be a question of fine tuning a highly efficient goal-scoring machine.  On the other hand a more radical reshuffle might be in order.

Your opportunity will come when the mid-season Transfer Market Window opens.  For three weeks you will be permitted to drop and replace up to three players using your Transfer Funds.

Selling an under-performing player can be an expensive business.

Just as in real football, the performance of your players on the pitch will affect their transfer value.  A successful player in your side is a valuable asset and can be sold at a good profit.  But an vastly under-achieving player will see his price drop and you will lose money if you choose to sell him.

SELLING A PLAYER:

Before you can sell one of your players you must work out how much he is now worth.  This is not so difficult!

  1. First turn to your Score Charts and add up all the points he has scored or lost for your side so far.

  2. Take the total score and multiply it by 10,000.  This will give you the change in the player's transfer fee.

  3. Finally add or subtract the change in value from his original Market Value price.

(e.g.  A top scoring striker who has notched up 20 points for the team will be worth an extra £200,000 (20 x £10,000).  If you bought him for £3.5 million he will now be worth £3.7 million.  However a dud defender on the other hand, whose grand total comes to a miserable -60 points will have seen his price de-value by £600,000 (60 x £10,000).  If you paid £600,000 for him then he's now worth nothing at all - and you've been robbed!

BUYING A PLAYER:

Buying a player is even easier.  The system works just as it did before at the start of your team selection stage when you picked up players at their original Market Value price.

USING YOUR SPENDING FUNDS:

As well as raising money by selling some of your good players, you may also have some savings you can use.  Any money remaining from your original budget that you didn't spend is still available in your bank account and can now go towards buying new players.

PLAYER SWAPS/PART EXCHANGES:

Managers can agree to do direct swap of players or part exchange (i.e. Player plus cash for another player, dependant on performance-related value adjustments).
